How does our network monitoring service work?
Network Monitor JaGuard has remote agents based on three continents, who act just like Internet browsers. Your network monitoring service starts as soon as you have set up your account and put the URLs that you want to be monitored on file. Our remote agents will start monitoring your network applications with the frequency that you've chosen in your customized area. The agents monitor your entire network to ensure that it is it is accessible, that the security is intact, and is working properly. If any function falls outside of the specified parameters, you will receive our instant notification and minimize any down-time, malfunction or breach of security.
Remote Network Monitoring
Services and Ports that can be monitored:
Web Servers - HTTP and HTTPS protocols. Monitor the performance and status of your website. Monitor any web resource delivered using Hypertext Transfer Protocol. We collect the same statistics for web pages delivered through a Secure HTTP (HTTPS) server.
POP3 Servers - POP3 and POP3S protocols. The most common e-mail configurations use the POP3 protocol for e-mail retrieval. Monitor this protocols to make sure your POP3 server function properly.
SMTP Servers - SMTP and SMTPS protocols. The most common e-mail configurations use the SMTP protocol for sending e-mail. Monitor this protocol to make sure your SMTP server function properly.
IMAP Servers - The Internet Message Access Protocol, allows a client to access and manipulate electronic mail messages on a server. IMAP permits manipulation of remote message folders, called "mailboxes", in a way that is functionally equivalent to local mailboxes. IMAP also provides the capability for an offline client to resynchronize with the server.
Download Servers - FTP (file transfer protocol). In most cases downloadable software or information files are provided by a FTP server on your site. To provide smooth and problem free downloads to your customers, make sure the FTP server is working properly.
Secure Shell Servers - SSH (secure shell protocol). Network Protocol that ensures remote control of the computer and file transmittion. It applies encoding algorithms to the data transmitted. Our monitoring service will notify you should your server have problems connected with SSH. Our interface gives you an opportunity to either choose any port to monitor a server or set a port by default.
