We have an internal monitoring system. Why should we monitor externally?
To answer this question you have to know how the Internet functions. By
structure it is a node/gateway system. Internal monitoring is able to
detect errors occurring inside your network. But it may not inform you
that inbound connections from different nodes on the Internet are able
to access your website. That's when jaGuard.net's advanced monitoring
technology has to come in.
The process of external monitoring is based on simulating end-user
actions. If the service can't reach the website or it loads too slowly,
jaGuard.net sends a notification that the site is down.
Do I have to install any software to monitor?
No. jaGuard.net is a web-based monitoring service and there is no
software you have to order and install to monitor. All you have to do
is register with us and control your monitoring process from the member
area.
What types of services does jaGuard.net monitor?
jaGuard.net is currently monitoring the following services: HTTP, IMAP, SSH, FTP, SMTP, POP3, HTTPS, SMTPS, POP3S.
How often will my website be monitored?
It depends on the type of service you choose. jaGuard.net offers 5, 10,
15, 20, 30 and 60 minute intervals between website checks.
How will I know that my website is down?
In case jaGuard.net detects any incidents on your website, it will
immediately send you a report via e-mail. We intentionally do not offer
reporting to any other devices like pager, cell phone, SMS, instant
messenger, and other as to many it seems annoying and not of much help.
For example, if you are somewhere on the road and get a message about
website malfunctioning, you just will not be able to fix it.
We would recommend you to set up a separate e-mail account for
monitoring service purposes. It is also highly advisable to do it on a
different domain, the one that is not being monitored; otherwise, you will not be able to receive monitoring messages until the site is up again.
Do you protect from false alarms?
Yes. It is our duty to ensure that customers don't receive any false
alerts. Our technologies are based on specific algorithms, and when
monitoring fails to get a successful response, the monitored item is
put on a watch alert and tested 1-10 additional times (depends on
chosen options) to verify the validity of the error. Only in case when
the error was confirmed does jaGuard.net send a notification.
How will I know that my website is operating properly again?
After the problem is fixed, you will receive a message saying that your website is up again.
How long do you keep monitoring statistics for accounts?
Normally we keep monitoring statistics for 3 months.
What credit cards does jaGuard.net accept?
We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover/Novus, Diners Club, JCB, and derivatives of those brands.
Does jaGuard.net accept any other forms of payment from customers, such as online checks?
No, we do not accept online checks.
